The EU Agency for Railways has the immense pleasure of inviting you to the ERTMS 2024 Conference which will take place in Valenciennes (France) from 23 to 25 April 2024.

This year’s edition will mostly focus on deployment of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) projects across Europe. It will highlight lessons learnt from successful implementation projects, the state of play of ERTMS deployment and the future perspectives.

In addition, the conference will deeply explore the migration and implementation strategies for Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) alongside innovation and research projects contributing to the evolution of the CCS TSI (Control Command and Signalling Technical Specifications for Interoperability).

We will welcome participants from all over the world including decision makers, industry representatives, railway undertaking and infrastructure managers as well as key stakeholders in order to exchange experiences and drive forward the deployment of ERTMS across Europe and beyond frontiers.

Why should you attend?

This conference will serve as a platform for stakeholders to collaborate, exchange knowledge and drive forward the deployment of ERTMS together with its benefits.

By showcasing success stories, addressing challenges and sharing best practices, this event will continue to support the ongoing journey aiming to make more efficient, cost-effective and interoperable railway signalling systems in Europe whilst outlining future strategies and discussing cost optimization processes.

Day 1 | 23 April 2024

The ERTMS 2024 Conference will feature a series of workshops which will represent a unique opportunity to join group discussions guided by key moderators. In this first day, participants will have the choice to select three of the ten workshops proposed. The aim of the workshops is to concentrate in emerging topics, generate new ideas and build interpersonal relations contributing to the success of ERTMS.

Day 2 | 24 April 2024

The second day of the conference will provide an overview of the current status of ERTMS deployment across Europe and will present strategies to overcome regulatory hurdles, funding mechanisms and collaborative initiatives. In addition, it will highlight the possible migration scenarios to FRMCS by exploring technical challenges, deployment strategies, interoperability considerations and the potential impact on ERTMS deployment.

Day 3 | 25 April 2024

The last day of the conference will focus on ongoing innovation and research projects contributing to the evolution of CCS TSI and enhancing the capabilities of ERTMS. This includes development in signalling technologies, communication systems, and interoperability solutions.
