Consultation on the 2022 package revision of the TSI relating to telematics applications for passengers (TAP TSI)

According to article 7 of Regulation (EU) 2016/796 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 on the European Union Agency for Railways and to article 5 (7) of Directive (EU) 2016/797 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 on the interoperability of the rail system within the European Union, the European Union Agency for Railways shall consult associations and bodies representing users on matters having a direct impact on passengers before submitting revisions of Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI) to the Commission.

In this respect, we make available for consultation the preliminary draft of the limited revision of the TSI relating to telematics applications for passengers (TAP TSI).

This recommendation is an amendment to the Commission Regulation (EU) No 454/2011 of 5 May 2011 concerning the technical specification for interoperability relating to telematics applications for passengers; it is available here: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=uriserv%3AOJ.L_.2011.123.01.0011.01.ENG

This revision concerns the technical characteristics for the Telematics applications for passengers:

1. Further harmonization between the TAP TSI and the TAF TSI
2. Improved provision of real-time data for passengers through 3rd parties such as ticket vendors,
3. Introduction of new booking interfaces,
4. Introduction of standards for improved electronic ticketing (e.g. ticket check).
