Improving performance by task observation and coaching

Day #2 - Workshop #3

Task observation is one of the most powerful tools, not only to ensure compliance and avoid declining performance, but also to improve performance. How do you achieve this improvement? Getting into the workplaces and observing what’s going on, rather than looking at reports or indicators, will help the managers to understand the level of performance and what needs to be done in order to improve it.

But this is only the first step. Next, you have to communicate what you discovered, and the way you do it is just as important as collecting the information. By observation in the field, assessing the real performance, and communicating effectively, the improvement in performance will be achieved.

During the workshop, participants will receive basic training on how to provide feedback after task observation, illustrate it with an example, and observe a role play by volunteers on how to do it.
