Biography

Michał Zięcina is a seasoned expert in railway safety management with over 20 years of professional experience, primarily at PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. Since 2011, he has served as Head of the SMS Management Unit, where he develops and supervises safety management system documentation, coordinates risk management processes, and leads internal audits. He is also a key trainer in the fields of Human Factors and Safety Culture, having personally trained nearly 2,000 employees.
Michał has played a central role in implementing strategic safety improvement programs and has actively contributed to international cooperation through involvement in EIM and PRIME working groups. He holds degrees from the Warsaw University of Technology and the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and possesses numerous certifications in quality and safety management systems. His contributions have been recognised with awards, including the honorary Golden Safety Manager Certificate.
