Giacomo Potenza

Biography

Giacomo Potenza is Economic Evaluation Officer at the EU Agency for Railways. He works in the Analysis Team where he is producing impact assessments and ex-post evaluations of Agency Recommendations and Opinions as well as working on rail-related statistics and data analysis in the field of safety and interoperability. Giacomo led also a task force of the ERA's Economic Steering Group to build a repository of indicating unit costs and ranges of different rail assets to support cost-benefit-analyses. 

Before joining the Agency in 2021, Giacomo worked as manager at the consulting firm EY producing economic studies in rail for the EU Institutions, also as part of the ERTMS Deployment Management Team, and worked also at the Italian State Railways on EU rail market regulation. Giacomo is a graduate from Bocconi University in business administration and public economics and holds an executive master in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University.
