Dr David Golightly

Biography

Dr David  Golightly is a lecturer in Human Factors within both Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Newcastle University, UK. David has worked in human factors across all aspects of rail, and in sectors including healthcare, manufacturing construction and product design. The focus of David’s research has been the cognitive aspects of work, and how that is best supported by user-centred technology. For rail, David has explored freight operations and safe work for groundstaff, in addition to signaller performance, control and disruption management, passenger information needs, and driving. David is Chartered member of CIEHF, and a Chartered Psychologist.
