Transport Market Study (TMS)

REGULATION (EU) No 913/2010, Art. 14: 'The Management Board shall evaluate the need for capacity to be allocated to freight trains running on the freight corridor taking into account the transport market study referred to in Article 9(3) of the Regulation 913/2010/EU, the requests for infrastructure capacity relating to the past and present working timetables and the framework agreements.' Art. 9 explains that the study shall cover the different types of traffic, both freight and passenger, and review where necessary the socio-economic costs and benefits stemming from the establishment of the freight corridor. The implementation plan of each RFC shall contain the essential elements of the study, which shall be periodically updated.
