Revenue

Income from all sources that finances the budget. Almost all revenue into the EU budget is in the form of own resources. The budget also receives other revenue, such as contributions from third countries for participating in EU programmes, the unused balance from the previous year, taxes paid by EU staff, competition fines, interest on late payments, etc. Some parts of ‘other revenue’ are earmarked for specific expenditure items, others are registered as general revenue
