Rail van

Non-tractive railway vehicle forming part of a passenger or goods train and used by the train crew as well as for the conveyance of luggage, parcels, bicycles, accompanied road passenger vehicles etc. Vehicles possessing one or more passenger compartments are not counted as vans but as passenger railway vehicles. Mail vans are included under vans when they do not have a passenger compartment. Sometimes also referred to as baggage car.
