Multiple unit (MU)

Trainset in which all railway vehicles are designed to carry payload. Note 1 to entry: Payload can be passengers, luggage or cargo. Note 2 to entry: Some MUs include intermediate powered railway vehicles which are designed to permit passengers to pass through; these are therefore also designed to carry payload.
