Metro line

Electric rail transport system, specifically designed for metro trains primarily used for urban transport with the capacity for high volumes of traffic and very frequent train movements. Metro lines are also characterised by closely spaced stations. Also referred to as ‘subway’, ‘metropolitan rail’, ‘rapid rail’, ‘rapid transit’ or ‘underground’.
