Gross national income (GNI)

Gross domestic product (GDP) minus primary income payable by resident units to non-resident units plus primary income receivable by resident units from the rest of the world. GNI has widely replaced gross national product (GNP) as an indicator of income. In the area of the EU budget this change took effect as from the year 2002.
