Gantry crane

Overhead crane comprising a horizontal gantry mounted on legs, which are either fixed or run in fixed tracks or on rubber tyres, with relatively limited manoeuvrability. The load can be moved horizontally, vertically and sideways. Such cranes normally straddle a road/rail and/or ship/shore interchange.
