Catastrophic rupture

A catastrophic rupture is the complete failure of the equipment leading to the complete and instantaneous release of the substance. A BLEVE is also a catastrophic rupture in particular operating conditions. Depending on the circumstances, the catastrophic rupture can lead to overpressure generation and missiles ejection.
