On 14 October 2025, the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) is happy to host a Safety Days follow-up webinar, continuing the reflections launched in Kraków during the European Rail Safety Days (1–3 October 2025).

This year’s Safety Days addressed a crucial theme - understanding workplace reality within railways, a critical feature for managing operational risks and improving safety performance.

With this webinar, ERA is happy to bring the conversation online, offering those who cannot attend the chance to hear first-hand insights, exchange perspectives and remain part of this important dialogue. The session will also give an overview of ERA’s training catalogue, covering a broad range of topics aimed at supporting the railway sector.

Speakers will share:

  • Their main takeaways from the Safety Days discussions;
  • Their hopes and expectations for future editions;
  • The challenges they face in their daily work;
  • And what they believe ERA can continue to provide to support the sector moving forward.

Our current line-up of speakers includes:

  • Oana Gherghinescu, Executive Director of ERA, sharing her vision for a resilient, efficient, and integrated European railway area.
  • Enno Wiebe, Director General of UNIFE, with extensive expertise in technical policy and international rail cooperation.
  • Emily Semmens, train driver and representative of the Federation of European Train Drivers’ Unions (ALE), bringing a front-line perspective.
  • Yohanna François, Safety Director at SNCF Group, drawing on her operational and management experience.
  • Vanessa Maria Garcia Lozano, Deputy Assistant Director at the Spanish State Agency for Railway Safety (AESF), will share insights on national safety coordination and its contribution to fostering a strong safety culture across Europe.
  • Bart Accou, Head of Safety and Operations at ERA, with deep expertise in safety management systems and European harmonisation.
  • Grégory Rolina, programme manager at ERA, leading the safety culture programme since 2017.
  • João Gaspar, project officer at ERA, responsible for training coordination at ERA.

Moderation: Cyriel Martin, communication officer at ERA.

Join us freely and without registration! You’ll have the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers through questions, and if you can’t attend live, the replay will be available afterwards on the ERA website.
