Project leader simulation ERTMS

Project leader in the Dutch ERTMS programme for Simulating interaction of signallers and drivers in user processes for risk management and user satisfaction. Project leader User aspects in the ERTMS programme using ISO25010 “Quality of Use”. Head Knowledge Centre Dutch Railways for daily performance of running trains on time. Graduated in Electronic Engineering, Phd in Molecular Physics.

Risk management by simulating driver/signaller interaction

By simulating ERTMS user processes (operational capabilities) safety, reliability and user aspects are analysed. This contribution deals with the unique possibility to analyse the interaction between drivers and signallers in depth. Performing the simulations not only with operational experts but also with staff just trained in ETCS gives Human Factor insights where aspects have to be improved or are maybe (to) good.

The ERTMS Programme Management directs the implementation of ERTMS in the Netherlands. To this end, we will execute many projects together with railway undertakings and users. The ERTMS Programme Management outlines the frameworks for realising ERTMS, based on the requirements of the Ministry of infrastructure and water management.
