Octobre Rose

Today, I am wearing pink.

Not because it is a campaign colour. Not because it is a symbol. But because October Rose is a reminder of the importance of awareness, prevention and early detection.

As professionals, we often speak about projects, targets, technologies and achievements. Yet some of the most important battles take place far from meeting rooms and conference stages. Breast cancer is not a statistic. Behind every number, there is a unique story about uncertainty, treatment and recovery. About courage, resilience and hope.

This October, I want to express my respect to everyone living with the disease, everyone who has overcome it, and all those whose lives have been touched by it.

But awareness is not only about showing solidarity. It is also about encouraging action. Early detection saves lives. Regular screening, medical check-ups and listening to our bodies can make a real difference. Looking after our health is not always something we prioritise, but it is a gift we can give ourselves, regardless of how busy life becomes.

If this post encourages even one person to schedule a screening, seek medical advice or have a conversation they have been postponing, then it will have served its purpose.
