NEXUS Horizon Europe project concludes

The European Union Agency for Railways is happy to share the conclusion of the NEXUS (Next-Generation Technologies for Enhanced Metro Operations) project, a Horizon Europe research initiative, co-funded by the European Union under Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking. The project held its Final Event in Brussels on 28 September 2026, marking the completion of two years of research aimed at making metro systems more efficient, resilient, and sustainable.

As part of its commitment to safety and interoperability, ERA participated as a member of the NEXUS Advisory Board. The Agency provided guidance to ensure that emerging technologies align with broader European railway frameworks.
