Jorge Iglesias is a Doctor of Engineering by the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He founded the ERTMS Rail Interoperability lab (RIL) at CEDEX (Research and Studies Centre of Ministry of Transport of Spain) in 2001 and since this date he has been deeply involved in the deployment of ERTMS in Spain and Europe, as well as testing ERTMS components in lines from almost all worldwide suppliers. He was ADIF’s R&D Director from 2007 to 2013. 

Optimise time and resources when testing ERTMS 

The presentation will highlight the role of accredited and independent labs in the process of testing ETCS. These labs offer an excellent neutral platform to run ETCS testiing both at constituent level for certification of conformity (SS-076/85/94/116) and at system level by testing the ETCS equipped lines before entering in service. These” advanced tests” would be an excellent tool to reduce testing time and therefore speed up the deployment of ETCS.
