Do you need as a Railway Undertaking to verify the compatibility of your rail vehicle with a specific route? Do you need as Industrial to check the technical characteristics of piece of network to design a vehicle type? Or to verify alternative routes to the one you usually use?
The Agency has initiated a path to connect the data and to extract new knowledge out of the data hosted at the European Rail Registers.
The first rail data service provided is the RCC (Route Compatibility Check) app.
Information related to the technical characteristics of authorized vehicles (as registered in ERATV) and the EU rail topology network (as per RINF) is queried in real time to provide you with an answer to the previous questions.
The ERA RCC app runs over a Knowledge graph. It has been placed in production in the EU Data Space with the Commission support. This solution follows the linked data and semantic interoperability principles – EU data policy principles on reusability, machine readability and open standards. It is one of the first steps towards a data centric and data driven EU Railway Agency.
