ERTMS deployment in Europe: Infrabel's success story

Congratulations Infrabel and all companies involved in completing the final milestone of the Belgian ETCS Masterplan and deploying ETCS on 100% of the Belgian network - a truly remarkable achievement! 

On top of delivering a key puzzle piece to the European Deployment Plan for ERTMS, Belgium is among the EU Member States leading the way with full ETCS deployment and decommissioning of national signalling systems ahead of the TEN-T deadlines. This sets a prime example as early adopter, providing inspiration to other countries. 

ERTMS is the key driver for safety and capacity for the EU rail system and Infrabel demonstrated its commitment to full scale delivery. Let us build together on this success story for progressing with accelerated ERTMS deployment in Europe.
