Consultation on the preliminary draft of the limited revision of the TSI relating to accessibility for persons with disabilities and persons with reduced mobility (TSI PRM)

According to Article 7 of Regulation (EU) 2016/796 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 on the European Union Agency for Railways and to Article 5(7) of Directive (EU) 2016/797 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 on the interoperability of the rail system within the European Union, the European Union Agency for Railways shall consult associations and bodies representing users on matters having a direct impact on passengers before submitting revisions of Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI) to the Commission.

In this respect, we make available for consultation the preliminary draft of the limited revision of the TSI relating to accessibility for persons with disabilities and persons with reduced mobility (TSI PRM).

This recommendation is an amendment to the Commission Regulation (EU) No 1300/2014 of 18 November 2014 concerning the technical specification for interoperability relating to accessibility of the Union's rail system for persons with disabilities and persons with reduced mobility; it is available here 

This revision concerns the technical characteristics of the Inventory of Assets system, which functions will be:

• Identifying the existing obstacles and barriers to accessibility
• Providing practical information to users
• Monitoring and evaluating progress on accessibility.
