On Track with the Director

On this 8 March, like every day of the year, I want to recognise the women who drive progress, innovation, and resilience across the rail sector and beyond.

Closing the persisting gender gap in rail is not optional - it is essential. And this requires action. Following the linear pace of change will not bring us there soon enough.

We need more women in technical, operational, and leadership roles. We need to challenge long‑standing barriers, dismantle unconscious biases, and actively open pathways for talent to thrive.

Building a fair, inclusive, and high‑performing European Rail System, with strong representation of women, is not only the right thing to do - it strengthens safety, quality, and excellence.

Let’s continue empowering every voice and shaping workplaces where diversity, equity, and genuine opportunities are embedded in our daily decisions and behaviours.

Every day, not just on the 8th of March.
