Karl-Albrecht Klinge

Biography

Prof. Dr. Karl-Albrecht Klinge is a Professor of Distributed Systems and Applied Informatics at Hochschule Mainz – University of Applied Sciences. He is a lead author in the Europe’s Rail System Pillar for both Diagnostics (Service Function Diagnostics) and Configuration (Service Function Configuration – SMIv3). His research focuses on the development of standardized digital twin models and the application of intelligent systems in railway infrastructure. This includes SmartGrid approaches for turnout heating based on weather forecasts and MINOS, a system for predicting level crossing closures in the DB InfraGO network.
