Karen Davies

Biography

Karen Davies has worked at ERA since March 2008 dealing with safety certification, risk management, NSA Monitoring and operations and traffic management. She is a qualified auditor and assessor of the single safety certificates. In 2000, she joined the HSE Railway Inspectorate where she helped to develop key tools on safety culture, human factors and staff competence in the operational environment. This involved designing competence systems considering the operational risks and environment in relation to the tasks involved.

From 2000 until 2008 she worked for the UK NSA dealing with railway safety, risk management and safety culture and then for the Department of Transport representing the UK at the EU Railway Interoperability Safety Committee level on railway safety issues.
