The overall purpose of the Agency’s Ex-Post Evaluation work is to assess the impact of rail legislation once it has been in force for a defined period. In addition, the Agency contributes to evaluations led by the European Commission. The scope of Ex-Post Evaluations is set out in Article 8(3) of the Agency Regulation, with further details provided in the Ex-Post Evaluation procedure. The Agency is legally required to perform Ex-Post Evaluations when the relevant legislation so requires.
