Traffic type of a railway line

Although the nature of traffic on a line is dependent on market developments, a railway line can be classified: - passenger only: if the railway line is exclusively reserved for use by passenger trains; - freight only: if the railway line is exclusively reserved for use by freight trains; - passenger and freight: if the railway line is open for use by passenger trains and by freight trains.
