Impulsive sound

Sound characterized by one or more brief bursts of sound pressure and that is such that the duration of a single impulsive noise is usually less than 1 s. EXAMPLE:Noise from blowoff valves, relay switches. Note 1 to entry: The quantification of impulsiveness is set out in Annex B.
