Composite packaging
Composite packaging
A packaging consisting of an outer packaging and an inner receptacle so constructed that the inner receptacle and the outer packaging form an integral packaging. Once assembled it remains thereafter an integrated single unit; it is filled, stored, carried and emptied as such.
NOTE: The term "inner receptacle" used for composite packagings shall not be confused with the term "inner
packaging" used for combination packagings. For example, the inner of a 6HA1 composite packaging
(plastics material) is such an inner receptacle since it is normally not designed to perform a containment function without its outer packaging and is not therefore an inner packaging.
Where a material is mentioned in brackets after the term "composite packaging", it refers to the inner receptacle.
