We are delighted to announce the winners of the Women in Rail Award 2026, recognised at a ceremony held on 22 September during InnoTrans 2026.
The Women in Rail Award recognises the individuals, teams and organisations driving change and creating concrete opportunities for women across the railway sector. The winners were celebrated during a dedicated award ceremony at InnoTrans 2026, bringing together representatives from across the European rail community to recognise their achievements and contributions to the sector.
Organised by the European Commission's Women in Transport Platform, the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA), Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking (EU-Rail), the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER), the Association of European Railway Industries (UNIFE), European Rail Infrastructure Managers (EIM) and the Federation of European Train Drivers' Unions (ALE), the award celebrates outstanding contributions to diversity, innovation, leadership and operational excellence in rail.
This year's winners reflect the talent, commitment and expertise helping to make the European railway sector more inclusive, innovative and future-oriented.
Ginès Soro (Spain)
Recognised for her commitment to promoting inclusion, leadership and equal opportunities within the railway sector.
Cecília Vale, University of Porto (Portugal)
Recognised for her contribution to research and innovation supporting the advancement of the European rail sector.
Réka Nemeth, MÁV (Hungary)
Recognised for her operational excellence and contribution to the safety and efficiency of railway operations.
Suzanne Flynn, Irish Rail (Ireland)
Recognised for her contribution to inspiring and encouraging the next generation of women to pursue studies and careers in rail.
