Tamo Vahemets is the Chairman of the board at Operation Lifesaver Estonia. He has been active in the railway sector since 1995 and between 1995 and 2013, Tamo was responsible for security in Estonian Railways Ltd. In 2004, he was the initiator of establishing Operation Lifesaver Estonia, a non-profit organisation dealing with public railway safety, in cooperation with Estonian Railways Ltd. Since 2014, he is the Chairman of the Safety Committee of Estonian Railways Ltd. Tamo is also one of the creators and founders of ILCAD (International Level Crossing Awareness Day, www.ilcad.org) and member of Global Level Crossing Forum (GLCF). Since 2014 Tamo’s full time job is Head of Security and Health Promotion Department at Estonian Energy Ldt (Estonian national energy company).
