The Agency at INNOTRANS 2018

The European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) will be participating in InnoTrans from 18 until 21 September.
In the scope of the 4th Railway Package (4RP), the Agency will become in June 2019 an authority responsible for the granting of safety certificates and vehicle authorisations, and for the approvals of ERTMS trackside solutions.
For its 2018 participation in InnoTrans, the Agency will carry out a demonstration of the One-Stop-Shop IT tool through which all applications for safety certificates, vehicle authorisations and ERTMS approvals shall be submitted as of June 2019. The visitors will be able to test the tool and receive an explanation on how it will work. As to address the stakeholders’ concerns, the Agency will hold at Speakers’ corner, on Wednesday 19 September from 15h to 16h, a debate on the new approach to route compatibility. The Agency is willing to convince its stakeholders and the national authorities of the benefits of the upcoming changes.
The Agency will host a debate on its stand on Tuesday 18 September, on Freight transport and digitalisation in the EU with the participation of the Director General of DG MOVE, Mr Henrik Hololei, and other distinguished speakers.
