Biography
Maarten Duhoux graduated as an automation and computer systems engineer in 1999 (MScEE, ESAT, KULeuven) and started his career as a railway signalling project engineer in 2002 (NMBS Infrastructure, later Infrabel). Since then, he has worked in small and very large public transport system projects in Belgium, France and Denmark. In 2021 he joined ERA at the Vehicle Authorisation team, and then joined the team responsible for migrating the operational data-related processes into the knowledge graph. His main interests currently are in railway related ontologies and how these can serve machine-based automation, while improving the user experience with this data. With Ghislain Atemezing, he co-authored the Verified Permissions and Approvals Ontology (VPA).
