This TSI concerns the telematics applications in the EU rail system, covering both passenger and freight services. It sets common requirements for interoperable data sharing across processes such as capacity management, train preparation, traffic management, ticketing, and freight / intermodal logistics, supported by standardized APIs / data presentation, cybersecurity measures, and open data principles.
As of 2 March 2026, this page replaces the pages Telematics Applications for Passenger Service TSI and Telematics Applications for Freight Service TSI - now archived - following the adoption on 6 February 2026 by the European Commission of the Implementing Regulation laying down requirements for the interoperability of data sharing in rail transport through a new Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI) on telematics.
