The European Register of Authorised Types of Vehicles (ERATV) refers to Article 48 of Interoperability Directive  (EU) 2016/797  and provides the technical characteristics of types of vehicles authorized in the different Member States. The common technical specifications of the register are set out in a Commission Implementing Decision (ERATV Decision 2011/665/EU). ERATV is in operation since January 2013.

The data in ERATV is publically available  and can be accessed via the link on the right hand side, while the data are provided by the national safety authorities that have authorised the type of vehicle.

The main findings of these reports were an input for the Working Party on the Rationalisation of Vehicle-Related Registers (RVRR).
