Safety Leadership Train-the-trainer Course

The Agency is organising a safety leadership train-the-trainer course open to rail professionals and safety specialists. 

The course targets professionals who already attended the ERA safety leadership training and are wishing to deploy the ERA safety leadership training. It is important to note that the ERA safety leadership training is delivered by two trainers. Consequently, it is strongly recommended to have at least two professionals from a same organisation attending the training. 

Professionals who wish to participate in this training must fulfill the following eligible criteria: 

• 5 years of experience in railway operations or safety related activities in the railway sector or in any other high-risk domain; 
• B2 Level in English;

Preparatory work will be requested. The participants will be granted an access to the ERA e-learning Safety Leadership Trainer Preparation in English, requiring reading and self-reflection. It is demanding but necessary to master the knowledge and skills needed to deliver the training. Estimated duration of the preparatory work: between 2 and 3 days. 

Once accomplished the safety leadership train-the-trainer course, coaching and performance of a successful dry-run training complete the path to become a qualified trainer. 

The course will take place in the Agency Headquarters in Valenciennes (France) from 24 September 2024 (13:30) to 27 September 2024 (12:00). Lunch will be delivered on 25 and 26 September. Detailed agenda and information on the safety leadership qualification path is available below.
