The main objective of the seminar is to raise awareness and facilitate the understanding of provisions of Directive 2008/68/EC on the inland transport of dangerous goods and Regulation concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID). In addition, the European Union Agency for Railways will present the harmonised Inland Transport of Dangerous Goods Risk Management Framework for roads, railways and inland waterways.

The Risk Management Framework (RMF) is a joint effort of UNECE & OTIF TDG Experts, the European Commission (DG MOVE) and the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) to harmonise risk-based decision-making in Inland Transport of Dangerous Goods in order to maximise safety of transport operations. It consists of a framework guide including: a guide for risk estimation, a guide for decision making and a glossary.

The seminar will bring together experts in charge of transport of dangerous goods management, occurrence reporting, transport statistics, risk estimation models, decision-making processes including risk decision-making principle, etc.
